A Portsmouth-based small business has been selected by global marketing and printing company Vistaprint to take part in a major branding project. Southsea Bathing Hut, which makes artisan bathing and body products, is one of the 2015 ‘Small Biz 100’ – the list of top small businesses compiled by Britain’s ‘local shopping’ campaign, Small Business Saturday.
As part of their sponsorship of the campaign, Vistaprint will offer a masterclass on ‘How to harness the power of great branding’. Its top brand directors recognised Southsea Bathing Hut as a small business with an interesting story to tell and the foundations of a unique brand identity. They have worked together to explore ideas for developing, defining and expressing the brand. The results will be presented to a live and online audience of small business owners on Wednesday 2 December.
Samantha Worsey, Director of Southsea Bathing Hut, says, ‘This has been an amazing opportunity for us. Luckily, my husband is a freelance copywriter who has written for a number of global brands, so I was able to tap into his expertise in creating our brand. But as a start-up, we do have limited resources. It’s been fantastic to have branding and PR people from a global business offer us new perspectives on how our visual brand can evolve.’
Vistaprint hopes the free one hour masterclass will help other small businesses to consider how they can make an emotional connection with their customers. Samantha will be taking part in the presentation, which will be held at Vistaprint’s UK HQ in London and streamed live online.
