This August bank holiday weekend, Portsmouth-based artisan cosmetics and coastal interiors business Southsea Bathing Hut will launch two new product lines. They have chosen one of the south coast’s biggest festivals as the place to do it.
Founder and Company Director Samantha Worsey explains, ‘We’re thrilled to have a stall at Victorious Festival, which is doing great things for Portsmouth’s reputation as a vibrant city with a real love of life. Our handmade cosmetics are all about natural, luxurious pampering, which we think is an idea worth celebrating. So the festival was the perfect choice for our launch.’
Southsea Bathing Hut Blooming Bath & Shower Oil adds a rich and soothing moisture layer to skin and promises to “transform your bath into a milky oasis.” Samantha explains that the fragrance – choose from Ooh-La-Lavender, Mint Overboard, and Lemon Soul with Sweet Orange – also “help to boost your mood.” A limited edition oil, Rose Garden, will be available only from the Southsea Bathing Hut stall.
Southsea Bathing Hut Botanical Steam is a concept Samantha discovered while researching artisan cosmetics trends in the United States. ‘In America, products like this are known as “facial steams’’, she says. ‘They are really popular. We’re one of the only companies making them in the UK. I think they’re going to be big.’ Each Botanical Steam is a blend of fragrant dried flowers. Southsea Bathing Hut will be offering seasonal specials, and say that “weekly steaming softens skin, clears sinuses and relaxes your mind.”
Those who have not managed to secure tickets for Victorious Festival will be able to buy the majority of these new products online or in local stockists or at markets around the region, from Saturday 29 August. The company is also gearing up to launch further new product lines in the run-up to Christmas.
