Southsea Bathing Hut and Strong Island Co are thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration. The creators of natural skincare from the seaside are opening a new base in the home of cutting edge urban-coastal wear.
It’s been a meteoric journey so far for cosmetics entrepreneur Samantha Worsey, founder of Southsea Bathing Hut. The company began with a range of handmade soaps and a small stall at the Love Southsea Market on Palmerston Road in April 2015. Just four months later, it was selected as one of the UK’s 100 Unsung Heroes by national ‘shop local’ campaign, Small Business Saturday. Samantha has presented on business at London’s Excel and for Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, and met the Chancellor of the Exchequer at a celebration of entrepreneurs.
All this time, every product in the ever-growing range – which now includes bath and shower oils, beauty balms, salt scrubs, facial steams and more – has been lovingly made on the kitchen table at Samantha’s Southsea home. Now it’s time to move on.
Southsea Bathing Hut is moving into the Strong Island Co shop at 12 Highland Road, Southsea. The new SBH Soap Kitchen is a room within the shop. The full product range will be available to purchase, alongside a host of other locally produced artwork, gifts and Strong Island apparel.
Samantha has exciting plans for the near future. “Now that we have a home away from home, I’ll be running occasional events for people who love natural skincare. I’d like to offer workshops, to show people how it’s done, as well as some very special and indulgent pamper evenings.”
To celebrate the start of this new chapter in the Southsea Bathing Hut story, Samantha will be on hand in the shop all day to mark their official launch at Strong Island Co. It’s happening on Saturday 6th August, from 10am – 6pm. Visitors can talk to Samantha about her products’ unique benefits, and there will be a free goody bag with every SBH purchase.
