    Delivery FAQs

    We currently ship across the UK only, using a Royal Mail service. We have temporarily suspended international shipping. If you would like to send our products to friends and family overseas, we recommend your purchase products and post them yourself directly. View our delivery fees and more information here.

    Please get in touch with us immediately and, if it hasn't already been dispatched, we'll be happy to change or cancel your order. If your order has already been dispatched, please refer to our Returns policy and procedures.

    All our parcels get sent via a Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard Service. We've been using this service for six years, and we generally find it is very reliable. Although this is not a tracked service, sometimes Royal Mail can provide us with information on where the parcel was last scanned or whether it has been delivered to the address provided. If your order has not arrived within ten days of your purchase date, please get in touch with us, and we'll try our best to provide an update.

    To return a gift, you will need to have a gift receipt, and you can then follow the returns steps online or visit us in-store. If you do not have a Gift Receipt, please return items to the person who purchased the gift. They will need to follow our Returns/Exchange procedure.

    We'll exchange or refund the price of all unused, unsatisfactory items, excluding any packaging or shipping fees for the initial delivery or the return shipment.

    If your order has arrived damaged or missing items, please get in touch with us within five days of receipt, and we will happily investigate and rectify any issues.

    All our own-brand products are handmade in Portsmouth by Samantha, our founder, and her small team.

    Every product has a different shelf life, depending on its formulation and ingredients. All products are made fresh and in small batches to ensure you receive products with the longest shelf life possible. Every product has a Best Before End date written on its label. This varies from 12 months - 3 years.

    Yes, all our bottles, pots, lids and caps are recyclable. Our labels are vinyl and therefore need to be removed before recycling, and you should smash any pumps into small pieces before placing them in recycling. Please be careful and wear safety goggles when you do this. Or return pumps to us, and we'll happily do it safely for you.

    As a very small business, we don't have the industrial cleaning equipment necessary to wash and repurpose packaging thoroughly. So please either reuse, refill or recycle your packaging.

    All our products are tested and certified as safe for anyone aged 3 years+

    No. We're against animal testing, and thankfully animal testing has been banned in the UK cosmetics market for a number of years. Our products are professionally formulated by our founder, Samantha, and tested and certified for safety by an independent cosmetic chemist. None of our products is therefore tested on animals.

    All our products are natural, and some also contain organic ingredients. As a vegan company, our natural ingredients are derived from a botanical or mineral source, and organic ingredients are related to farming practices. They are grown with fewer pesticides, fertilisers or herbicides, and use methods that benefit soil, ecosystems and people. Organic ingredients are clearly indicated in our ingredient lists.     Yes, all the products we make ourselves are vegan. Some of our partner brands use organic bee ingredients in their products, and this information is clearly provided on our website. All our products are gluten-free, with the exception of our Complexion Water Toner, which contains wheat protein.

    Every ingredient has been scientifically allocated a comedogenic score, which ranges from 0 - 5. This is a rating that shows how likely a specific ingredient can clog your pores. All our products are carefully formulated to provide the best benefits and avoid pore-clogging. We avoid using ingredients which a high comedogenic score and carefully craft recipes to ensure your skin is happy and healthy.

    Paraben is a wide-ranging term referring to mainstream cosmetic preservatives. Although many scientific studies indicate they are safe for use in small concentrations, an improperly preserved cosmetic is very dangerous - we do not use parabens to preserve our products. To find out more about the ingredients in our products visit our Ingredient Glossary.

    Our products are natural and gorgeous for use during pregnancy. However, the National Association of Aromatherapists recommends avoiding the use of essential oils during the first trimester. We'd also suggest avoiding the citrus and menthol essential oils in our range throughout pregnancy. Essential Oils are entirely natural, but they are potent active ingredients. So we'd suggest avoiding these to prevent overstimulation for yourself and your baby during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

    We do not use silicones, fragrance oil or dyes, alcohols, SLS (Sodium Laurel Sulphate), parabens and other synthetic chemical ingredients, adversely affecting skin function or overall health.

    All our products are made by hand, in small batches with natural ingredients. Although we follow exactly the same recipe and method of manufacture for each batch, sometimes there are naturally minor variations of colour, texture and odour.

    The first burn of a natural soy wax candle is the most important. Burn your candle for long enough to allow a molten pool of wax to form and fully extend to the outside rim of the jar. This is known as setting the candle's "memory". Each time you burn the candle, it will "remember" to burn out to the rim instead of melting down the centre and causing tunnelling.

    Other Top Tips

    • Burn your candle in sessions of one hour for every inch of your candle's diameter. But never leave a burning candle unattended.
    • Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4". Trimming the wick will allow the candle to have a longer burn time.
    • Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets
    • Extinguish the flame by dipping the wick into the melted wax pool, then reposition it. This will help eliminate smoking or "afterglow".
    • Store candles in an upright, level position in a dark and cool area. Do not store directly in bright light.

    Our Low Tide and High Tide candles are hand-poured and made with a natural cotton wick, a blend of 100% pure essential oils and non-toxic, GM-free soy wax.

    All of our products have been professionally formulated by us, tested and certified for safety by an independent chartered cosmetic chemist. Product ingredients are also clearly labelled on our products and website. If you have followed product directions and experience any adverse reaction to Southsea Bathing Hut products, you likely have an unknown allergy to a particular ingredient. Sadly, this is outside of our control as allergies are caused by hereditary and lifestyle factors. However, please do contact us, and we'll be happy to advise.

    • View your shopping cart. Here you can add more items or remove items from your cart. Also, if you have any instructions for the team, or would like to add a handwritten gift tag to your order, please write in the box indicated. Then, click on Check Out.


    • Please enter your email address, select a Delivery Method, and add your shipping address and telephone number. Then, click Continue to Shipping.


    • Check your preferred Delivery Method is shown. Then, click Continue to Payment.


    • If you have a discount code, please enter it in the relevant field. Then, choose to EITHER enter (credit or debit) card details OR pay via PayPal. Confirm/add Billing address details. Choose whether to create a SBH account for faster checkout next time (this is entirely optional).  Then, click to Review Order.


    • Check all details. Then, click Complete Order.



    • If you chose to pay using PayPal, you will be directed to secure PayPal log-in, where you can follow instructions to log-in to your PayPal account and make payment.

    Yes, if a product is 'Sold Out' on our website and we haven't removed the listing, it will be back as soon as possible. We'd recommend checking back in a few days or contact us for an update.

    No, as a micro-business, we're unable to provide free samples. However, most of our products are available in small/mini sizes, so you can try them before committing to a larger size. View our Discover & Travel Collection. We also provide tester samples in our Studio Shop.

    Sign up to our mailing list on our website or in-store, and we'll send you a code to receive 10% off your first order. Please note that only one discount can be redeemed per transaction.     We can accept a wide range of cards (Visa, AMEX, MasterCard, and more) and PayPal online. In-store, you can also pay using cash.
