What is a Reflexology Treatment?
Reflexology is a non-invasive complimentary therapy that aims to deeply relax and bring balance between body, mind and spirit.
It’s based on a theory that different areas on the feet, lower leg, hands, face and ears are connected to corresponding areas, organs, systems and functions of body. Working in a similar way to touch therapy or acupressure, it is said that applying pressure, massaging and gently manipulating stimulates these areas to invoke the body’s natural healing power.
Sometimes energy pathways and areas can become blocked and out of balance, and can create a build-up of toxins that may occasionally show on the skin as dry, cracked, red or even yellow patches. This can be felt during a reflexology treatment as crunchy, hard or ‘popping’ sensation, sometimes sensitive and tender.
How does a Reflexology Treatment work?
Reflexology is performed lying down or in a chair. You can be fully clothed or undressed and covered by blankets - however you feel most comfortable. You will only need to remove your socks and shoes. You will not be completely exposed at any point during your treatment; your therapist will uncover one little bit of you at a time depending on the area she is focusing on.
Your therapist will work primarily on your feet and lower legs. She will apply gentle pressures and manipulation using hand positions and techniques that correspond to the reflex points of the body and their associated organs, systems and functions. If the areas on the feet are contraindicated or need a little extra love, she may work on specific referral areas on the hands, face or ears - or even offer them as some self-help during your aftercare.
Your treatment will finish with a mindful moment where you are encouraged to take 3 deep meditative breaths. This will be followed by specific aftercare advice.
It can be beneficial as a one-off experience but if you have a long-standing condition, you may prefer a course of Reflexology treatments, helping to bring you comfort and positivity. We can schedule a course to suit your body’s individual healing process. To book a 6 session course, choose the relevant option above and book your first session date and time. We’ll schedule your remaining 5 sessions when you visit us for your first appointment, according to your needs.

It can be adapted to suit your individual needs by ensuring your full comfortability throughout your treatment.
Most people express a feeling of deep relaxation, meditation and a sense of well-being. Sometimes, people feel tired and tearful, which can all be part of the healing process.
Your therapist will not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe but offer a gentle touch and support to tailor a course of treatments in a plan that may personally benefit you. Reflexology and Reiki complement each other beautifully.
